How our income-limit calculator works: Lifeline’s income screening uses 135% of the applicable annual Federal Poverty Guideline (FPG) for the household’s size and region. Our calculation is FPG amount × 1.35 = Lifeline annual income threshold. For example, for a four-person household in the contiguous 48 states or Washington, DC, the 2026 base guideline is $33,000, so $33,000 × 1.35 = $44,550 per year. Alaska and Hawaii have separate guideline amounts. We check displayed amounts against USAC’s published eligibility table. This calculator is informational; the program administrator confirms individual eligibility.
